Metroplex Math Circle brings world reknowned speakers to DFW to share their knowledge and passion for mathematics. Following is a growing list of speakers who have come since January 2008.
Dr. Zuming Feng
Dr. Zuming Feng has been Coach of the US IMO Team since 1997. He was US IMO Deputy Team Leader from 2000 to 2002, and has been the Team Leader from 2003 till now. He has served as the Academic Director of MOSP since 2003, and a USAMO Committee member since 1999. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Feng currently teaches at the Phillips Exeter Academy (PEA), and is two-time MAA Sliffe Award winner for Distinguished Teaching.
Dr. Paul Stanford
Dr. Stanford is a math professor at UT Dallas, where he has taught (and
enjoyed teaching) for six years. He has also taught at Brookhaven
college, and given numerous technical seminars during a 15-year stint at
Texas Instruments, where he was a senior member of technical staff
(SMTS). He has been a software developer, language designer, and
automated software test engineer -- in both the electronic design
automation and telecommunication fields. He grew up in a small town in
England and now lives in Dallas. In addition to enjoying all things
mathematical he has also been known to write and publish poetry. What
probably gives him the greatest pleasure is in sharing his enthusiasm
for the endless delights of mathematics.
